Uttar Pradesh government to recruit more than 3,000 nurses

Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission (UPPSC) has published a notification for recruitment to the post of staff nurse/sister grade-2. Both male and female candidates can apply for this post. Eligible and interested candidates can apply only online through the official website of the commission.

Important dates

Starting of commencement of application: July 16, 2021.

Last date for payment of examination fee: August 12, 2021.

Last date for submission of application: August 16, 2021.

Vacancy details

According to the recruitment advertisement, total number of vacancies is 3,012. The number of vacancies for the post of staff nurse/sister grade-2 (male) is 341 and for the post of staff nurse/sister grade-2 (female) is 2,671.

Pay scale

Rs 9,300 to Rs 34,800, grade pay Rs 4,600. (Revised pay scale level-7 pay matrix Rs 44,900 to Rs 14,2400).

Eligibility criteria

Educational qualification:

1) Staff nurse (male):

i) Must have passed high school examination (class 10) with science and intermediate examination (class 12) of the Board of High School and Intermediate Education, Uttar Pradesh or an examination recognised by the state government as equivalent thereto.

ii) Diploma in general nursing and midwifery (GNM) or BSc (Nursing) degree or diploma in Psychiatry and registration certificate from UP Nurses and Midwives Council.

2) Staff nurse (female):

i)  Must have passed high school examination (class 10) with science and intermediate examination (class 12) of the Board of High School and Intermediate Education, Uttar Pradesh or an examination recognised by the state government as equivalent thereto.

ii) Diploma in GNM or BSc (Nursing) degree or diploma in Psychiatry and registration certificate from UP Nurses and Midwives Council.

3. Sister grade-2 (male/ female):

Diploma in GNM from a recognised institute or equivalent qualification. Preference to those having 3 years of experience in a large hospital or medical college or BSc (Nursing). In addition, a registered ‘A’ grade nurse and midwife with a state nursing council or equivalent qualification.

Age limit

Minimum age: 21 years as on July 1, 2021.

Maximum age: 40 years as on July 1, 2021.

Relaxation in upper age limit is applicable as per government norms for reserved category candidates.

Application fee

Unreserved/ economically weaker sections/ other backward class: Rs. 125

Scheduled Caste/ Scheduled Tribe: Rs 65

Handicapped: Rs 25

Ex-serviceman: Rs 65

Dependents of the freedom fighters/ women: According to their original category
