Mumbai-based brokerage Prabhudas Lilladher Monday launched the “Wealth For Women (WFW)” portfolio with an objective to provide a structured investment option to millions of women.

Talking about the strategy and how it can help women to achieve their financial goals, Prabhudas Lilladher Joint MD Amisha Vora said, “WFW is a simpler product. It will help women to invest in blended asset classes rather than only gold and fixed deposits. However, men can also invest in this scheme.”

The portfolio will give exposure to asset classes like domestic largecap, midcap, corporate bonds, G-Sec, Gold, US Nasdaq and Liquid Funds to optimise returns while managing risk, drawdowns and volatility.

Vora further added that the strategy behind WFW construction combines both quantitative and fundamental methods into proprietary Quantamental models to eliminate limitations of both investment strategies for sustainable investing.

“Quant methods eliminate human bias and fundamental methods look beyond prices and capture real factors affecting prices,” she added.

WFW eliminates stock selection risk by going for an index-based approach that represents the broader equity markets as an asset class rather than a sector, or industry or company. For instance, the fund takes gold exposure through gold ETF rather than accumulating the yellow metal in physical form.
