A look at what the new Modi cabinet looks like

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has taken charge of Ministry of Science & Technology as India tries to ensure a spot scientific innovation community.

Apart from heading his high-stake ministerial portfolio, Amit Shah has also been assigned the charge of newly formed Ministry of Cooperation.

Piyush Goyal gets to keep Ministry of Commerce. In addition, Goyal also has been given the charge of Textile Ministry and Ministry of Consumer Welfare.

Dharmendra Pradhan, who has been handling the petroleum ministry till now in PM Modi's second term, will now handle the education and skill development portfolio

Narayan Tatu Rane, 69, a Rajya Sabha MP and a former Maharashtra chief minister gets Minister of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises.

Jyotiraditya Scindia takes over as Civil Aviation Minister, a portfolio that was once headed by his father Madhavrao Jivajirao Scindia.

Ashwini Vaishnaw is a former IAS officer holding degrees from IIT Kanpur and Wharton Business School. He takes charge as the Union Minister of Railways.

Kiren Rijiju has been elevated to the cabinet minister rank and given the charge of the Ministry of Law and Justice. He had been serving as the Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Youth Affairs and Minister of State for Minority Affairs and Ayush portfolios.

Hardeep Singh Puri got additional charge of Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas in the union cabinet. He will continue to serve as the Minister of State for Housing and Urban Affairs.

Anurag Singh Thakur has been given charge of Information and Broadcasting. Additionally, he will handle the Youth Affairs and Sports ministry. Bhagwat Kishanrao Karad will replace Thakur as the MoS Finance.

Amidst the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, the Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led government allotted the Ministry of Health to Mansukh Mandaviya. He will also manage the ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers.

Meenakshi Lekhi, BJP's face in media, has found a place in the Council of ministers. Lekhi will take charge as Union Minister of State for ministry of external affairs.
