BCCI Central contracts: A look at the moolah raked in by cricketers

Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma and Jasprit Bumrah retained their spots in the highest bracket of the BCCI contracts list and will be getting Rs 7 crore annually.

In a tweet, BCCI gave information about the central contracts of the players.

BCCI’s current payment structure

Grade A+: Rs. 7 Crore

Grade A: Rs. 5 Crore

Grade B: Rs. 3 Crore

Grade C: Rs. 1 Crore

Hardik Pandya makes it to Grade A

All-Rounder Hardik Pandya has been promoted to grade A. Hence, Pandya will be getting an annual salary of Rs. 5 Crore from now on. Last year was tough on him and he was mostly off the field due to back injury when he was a grade B player.

“Hardik Pandya is one of the most valuable players in the world cup squad after the A+ players and his promotion decision has been taken watching his current form.” Anonymous veteran BCCI officer told PTI.

New Entrants

Shubhman Gill and Mohammed Siraj got a new contract in the grade C category of BCCI. Both of these players will be getting an annual salary of Rs. 1 Crore. Other than that, Shardul Thakur has been promoted to grade B. India dominated the Australia Test Series because of a power packed performance delivered by Gill, Siraj and Thakur.

The biggest name that has been demoted from grade A to grade B is Bhubneshwar Kumar. Now, he’d be getting an annual salary of Rs. 3 crore. Bhubaneswar was mostly out of the playing squad due to his injuries and therefore wasn’t a regular player in any tour. Kuldeep Yadav has also been demoted to Grade C from Grade A.
