India Post to recruit over 2,300 gramin dak sevaks in Bengal circle

India Post, the largest postal network in the world, has issued a notification for recruitment to the post of gramin dak sevak (GDS) in the West Bengal postal circle. The total number of vacancies is 2,357.

Through this recruitment process, India Post will fill vacancies in branch post master (BPM), assistant branch post master (ABPM) and dak sevak (DS) posts. There are a total 23 postal circles with more than 1.54 lakh post offices across India.

Candidates can now apply online for various GDS posts in West Bengal circle till August 19, 2021 through the official website of India Post.

Registration and fee submission start: July 20, 2021

Last date of registration: August 19, 2021

Last date of fee payment: August 19, 2021

Eligibility criteria

Educational qualification:

i) Secondary school examination pass certificate of 10th standard with passing marks in mathematics, local language and English.

(ii) Compulsory knowledge of the local language.

Age: Between 18 years to 40 years as on July 20, 2021.

Relaxation in upper age limit is applicable for SC, ST, OBC and differently-abled candidates as per government guidelines.

Salary

1) Level 1 in time related continuity allowance (TRCA) slab

BPM: Rs 12,000 per month

ABPM/Dak Sevak: Rs 10,000 per month

2) Level 2 in time related continuity allowance (TRCA) slab

BPM: Rs 14,500 per month

ABPM/Dak Sevak: Rs 12,000 per month

However, the initial fixation of TRCA (Time Related Continuity Allowance) will be done on the first stage of Level-I of the respective category.

Application Fee

Unreserved/OBC/Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) male/ trans-man: Rs 100

SC/ST/Persons with Disabilities (PwD) category and female/ trans-woman: No Fee

Selection process

The selection of the candidates will be done on the basis of the automatically generated merit list.
