Indian gaming market set to expand to $3.9 billion by 2025

The Internet and Mobile Association of India (IAMAI), on Tuesday said that the pandemic has spurted a massive growth in the gaming segment in the country, with the market for gaming estimated to reach $3.9 billion by 2025. In a report, it also added that the Covid-19 pandemic has boosted the organic growth of digital games as mobile app downloads increased by 50%, with user engagement going up by 20%.
It was also noted by OnePlus and RedSeer, that the sector is attracting huge investment interest, with almost $1 billion invested in the last six months.
Hardcore gamers pay an average of Rs 230 per month

Presently, the Indian gaming sector is dominated by mobile gaming and contributes more than 90% to the $1.6 billion gaming market and by value, it is expected to grow further to generate $3.9 billion by 2025, it said.
It was highlighted by the report that 40% of the hardcore gamers pay for their games with an average spend of Rs 230 per month.
