Make travelling seamless again

Although the danger of the third wave is lurking, tourism centres have opened up and with vaccination drive gaining ground, people have shed their inhibitions related to travelling.

Cooped up inside their abodes for a long time, it is natural that they would want to explore nearest getaways.

Images from the hill stations indicate that people are ready to again venture out although it must be noted that social distancing norms are also being flouted openly.

The government has told states to do away with RT-PCR tests for fully vaccinated people. It will help save precious time and money of citizens.

Uniform protocol is the need of the hour as it will bring an end to the uncertainty which is troubling citizens. Imagine someone who urgently needs to visit a particular place but is unable to do so because of lack of RT-PCR. Although we must be wary of the Covid threat, we should be mentally prepared to adjust to the harsh realities of post-Covid life.

Some states are still insisting on RT-PCR states for entry of fully vaccinated travellers from other parts of the country.

Those who have taken both doses of vaccine should not face any travel restrictions.

Return to normalcy can be achieved only if the authorities ensure citizens do not face any inconvenience.

The economy is interlinked with these factors and in order to bounce bank from the setback brought by the coronavirus pandemic, there is urgent need to get rid of these bottlenecks.

Hopefully, as vaccination drive gains further steam, the states will become more flexible with their guidelines.
