MSP: Rs 149 crore transferred to bank accounts of farmers

The Haryana government is purchasing several crops on Minimum Support Price (MSP). These include millet, peanuts, sunflower, wheat, mustard etc. Farmers have been paid via the direct bank transfer mode by the state government.

In the last 12 days, the Haryana government procured 11.10 lakh tonnes of wheat at MSP. 

For procurement purposes, as many as 1,90,641 J-forms of 1,05,433 farmers have been prepared so far. Till April 11, payment of Rs 149.28 crore was directly made into the bank accounts of the farmers.

“Crops are being procured from anaj mandis (grain market) very smoothly. Farmers will not face any kind of problem for selling their crop. Haryana government is procuring 10 crops on MSP including millet, groundnut, sunflower, wheat, paddy and mustard. The farmers are getting payments directly into their accounts,” JP Dalal, State Agriculture Minister said while speaking to reporters at a grain market in Rewari.

The government has ordered for purchase and lifting of wheat from the mandis on a daily basis. This was done to ensure the crop is not left stored in the mandis and farmers have no difficulty while selling it.

Alongside this, the government has instructed senior officers to inspect the mandis to ensure hassle free procurement.
