Ravi Shastri’s RT-PCR report tests positive, to be in isolation for 10 days
The source has informed that the Indian head coach has mild symptoms like sore throat and will have to remain insolated for 10 days.
India head coach Ravi Shastri who had tested positive in the lateral flow test (Rapid Antigen Test) on Sunday has tested positive in the confirmatory RT-PCR test as well. Shastri will have to stay in isolation for the next 10 days, the sources have told a news agency. The match between India vs England, fifth and final Test is scheduled to start on September 10. The source has informed the news agency that the Indian head coach has mild symptoms like sore throat and will have to remain insolated for 10 days.
On September 5, BCCI had said that Shashtri had tested positive in the two lateral flow tests and was awaiting confirmation through the RT-PCR test.
The BCCI secretary Jay Shah stated in a release, “BCCI Medical Team has isolated Mr Ravi Shastri, Head Coach, Mr B. Arun, Bowling Coach, Mr R. Sridhar, Fielding Coach and Mr Nitin Patel, Physiotherapist as a precautionary measure after Mr Shastri’s lateral flow test returned positive last evening.
As per reports it is likely that Shastri might have contracted with the infection after he attended his book launch event in the team hotel where outside guests were also allowed.
