Springboard to reskill 10 million people by 2025: Infosys

In a move to reach its goal of reskilling more than 10 million people by 2025, Infosys has announced the launch of a digital skilling programme, Springboard that targets students of class six to professionals, The Economic Times reported on Friday. The platform already has 4,00,000 learners and more than 300 educational institutions, self-help groups and NGOs use the platform. It will also allow learners to assess themselves and certified through examinations.

Springboard to allow learners prepare for emerging jobs

As a part of its Environment Social and Governance (ESG) goals, powered by Infosys’s education technology platform Wingspan, it offers courses developed in collaboration with Coursera and Learnship. Apart from vocational and soft skills training, it includes practice areas and programming languages.

Springboard would allow learners to prepare for emerging jobs and careers and helps working professionals take up advanced digital skills. Also, it helps teachers collaborate and allow NGOs to impart learning to undeserved sections of society.

The publication reported that digital curricula and platforms should be more than just hand-me-downs from corporates, and must truly serve the needs of students and educators. On the other hand, parents and guardians need the assurance that their wards are adequately prepared to face the future. Support groups and NGOs need to extend this to all strata of our society, it added.
